Last year’s horrifying Rana Plaza factory building collapse claimed over a thousand lives and left hundreds injured. Despite global outrage, only a third of the companies that used the Dhaka manufacturing facility have offered compensation to the Bangladeshi victims and families. To drum up attention to these unresolved problems and inspire reform, labor activists, including 99 Pickets and photojournalist Ismail Ferdous, set up a demonstration right outside of New York Fashion Week. Their moving installation projects the faces of the Rana Plaza victims onto the exterior of the Lincoln Center.
